Descriptions:
A fresh political realignment is unfolding in Rivers State as Dr. Sokonte Davies, a governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), joins the Rainbow Coalition associated with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
Davies, a former member of the House of Representatives, reportedly visited Wike at his Port Harcourt residence before his movement into the coalition was made public. Reports also note that Davies had previously supported the ADC’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi.
The development comes amid intense political realignments in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Wike engaging political stakeholders and mobilising support around the Rainbow Coalition.
The move raises fresh questions about the strength of competing political structures in Rivers State and what further realignments could emerge as the 2027 elections draw closer.
Watch the full report for the latest developments involving Wike, Atiku, Amaechi, ADC and the Rainbow Coalition.
